Preference Ranking Organization Method For Enrichment Evaluations

PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations) was introduced by Brans et al. (1984). The basic principle of this decision aid methodology is based on a pairwise comparison of alternatives along each recognized criterion. The results of the aggregation of these comparisons which are expressed in terms of fuzzy numerical preference values are then used to establish an outranking of the available alternatives. A relatively low degree of mathematical complexity makes PROMETHEE an attractive method for all non experts involved in a decision process.
