Alternative Screening

Alternative screening is a process whereby a set of constraints are used to eliminate those alternatives that fail to satisfy specified constraints. These constraints could be varying in nature: physical, social, cultural, regulatory, and so on. It is important that all of these various types of constraints are included in the screening process.
